The final instalment of this series, is loosely for the average guy (if there is such a thing) as well as for all shapes, in drawing a conclusion to all to this.

The average guy has in some ways the easiest but also the hardest job. Why? well they have to choose from all the options. Its always easier when certain things are prescribed for you, like for the muscle bound softer shoulders. Less decisions = less mistakes. The key for the average of build is to think ‘how do I want to look today?’ if stronger and authoritative for a big meeting, choose an outfit that accentuates the shoulders and slim waistline in a strong stripe, a three piece or even well fitted double breasted to show authority and formality of someone in charge. However if you need to be a bit more inconspicuous a classic subdued solid navy or charcoal 2 button is your option. In short take advantage of the fact you can wear anything by using the previous parts to accentuate what you want to emphasise and how you want to appear in general and even from day to day.

To a lesser extent all shapes can do this too. As with many things rules, once known and understood, can be broken intentionally to achieve the right ends. As long as you are aware of what you are doing, the guidelines previously espoused can be adjusted and altered to suit your own individual style, and as a result you will move from the robotically well dressed to a more sophisticated sartorial beast and have much more fun doing so!!!

Good luck!!!

About themaninasuit

I have been involved in the menswear business since university in1997. Have gradually fallen in love with men's suiting and more recently tailor made garments. I am perpetually asked for style advise and things to wear so decided to get some of my thoughts and passions out and about
