As we have all been able to tell from last few weekends summer is well and truly on the way (well maybe spring!!), so its time to start considering those new summer pieces. This is especially true if you want something made rather than generic off the peg Whether for spring weddings, racing carnival or just to be looking great heading to work or the bar here are some great ideas

Guys are finally wearing sports jackets with more than just jeans, For summer get something in a cotton or linen and embrace the crush factor like the Neapolitans do. If you can’t handle the crush, stick to wool but use an open weave to allow it to breathe and feel cool even on the hottest day.

Check these two strong checks out from Ariston of Napoli in their “Giacche” collection, great to the office races or a bar depending on how you want to wear them

This one is a bit more fun in a seersucker style, and as you can see I am a sucker for reds!!!

Now my personal fave, an amazing wool cotton apricot (orange if you prefer) lightweight. I can see this as a double breasted jacket with light beige wool trousers, tie and kerchief for racing carnival!!

Now back to the red infatuation!! This is a beautiful pure linen from the “portofino” collection by Hunt and Winterbotham. This with a great self tied bow tie and a sexy pair of well cut dress jeans just fantastic

Now you dont have to have a checked jacket (but it does help!!) a great blue with a texture, like a hop sack woven wool, which unfortunately doesnt look good photographing flat, so I havent included or like this bold herringbone wool silk linen blend goes with everything formal or casual, double or singlebreasted and makes a great all purpose summer jacket

Wear all of these with nice slim trousers, formal shorts if you can get away with, and yes on occasion jeans are okay too!!
